Tip #2: Use a bedbug-proof luggage.

A bedbug-proof luggage is something that is hard-sided, zipperless, and can be easily wiped down with rubbing alcohol. For extra added protection against bedbugs, seal your travel items in an oversized Ziploc or garbage bag before putting them inside the luggage or suitcase.

Tip #3: Thoroughly inspect your hotel room and look for any telltale signs of bedbugs.

Yes, hotel rooms are religiously cleaned, disinfected and maintained. But sometimes, bedbugs “check in” much earlier than you do. So, do your part to be safe. Conduct a thorough inspection of the bed you are going to sleep on as well as the furniture and fixture inside your hotel room.

Use flashlight to better see any crack and crevice that bedbugs might be hiding. Stop if you are completely satisfied that everything is bedbug-free. If in case you found bedbugs, courteously request for another room with no bedbugs.

If in case, your luggage becomes infested with bedbugs, isolate and have it properly treated as soon as possible. Do not throw it away. It’s a big unnecessary waste of money. Once it’s completely cleaned up from bedbugs, it still can be safely used for another trip.
